Risk Disclosure

Last updated: 2026-05-15

Important: AstronAlgo is an analytical and educational platform. It does not provide investment advice, brokerage services, or any recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial instrument. Trading and investing involve substantial risk of loss and are not suitable for every investor. You can lose some or all of the capital you deploy. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

1. Scope & Purpose

1.1. This Risk Disclosure (the "Disclosure") is provided to ensure you understand the nature and risks of relying on AstronAlgo's Service. It supplements the Terms of Service and is incorporated by reference.

1.2. Capitalised terms used but not defined here have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.

2. Nature of the Information Provided

2.1. AstronAlgo aggregates publicly available market data, news, and other inputs and produces computed signals, scores, biases, and contextual summaries via proprietary models. These outputs are analytical observations, not recommendations or instructions to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial instrument.

2.2. Outputs of the Service are generic in nature. They are not tailored to your investment objectives, financial circumstances, tax position, time horizon, or risk tolerance.

2.3. No information on the Service constitutes investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, tax advice, legal advice, or solicitation. Before acting on any information you must consult a financial professional licensed in your jurisdiction.

3. Market Risks

Markets carry many risks that no analytical model can eliminate, including:

  • 3.1 Capital Risk. The value of investments can go down as well as up. You may receive back less than the amount you originally invested, and in some cases (e.g. leveraged products) you may lose more than your initial deposit.
  • 3.2 Volatility Risk. Prices can move sharply within short periods, particularly for small-cap, illiquid, emerging-market, or leveraged instruments.
  • 3.3 Liquidity Risk. Certain instruments may be difficult or impossible to trade at the price or volume you want, especially during market stress.
  • 3.4 Currency Risk. Non-domestic instruments expose you to fluctuations in foreign exchange rates.
  • 3.5 Leverage Risk. Margin trading, derivatives, and other leveraged products can magnify both gains and losses; losses may exceed your initial deposit and you may be required to deposit additional funds.
  • 3.6 Counterparty & Settlement Risk. The financial failure of a broker, exchange, clearing house, or counterparty can result in loss of capital.
  • 3.7 Concentration Risk. Over-allocating capital to a small number of ideas, sectors, or themes amplifies losses if those positions move against you.
  • 3.8 Regulatory & Tax Risk. Changes in laws, regulations, or tax rules may adversely affect the value of your investments and your net returns.
  • 3.9 Geopolitical Risk. Wars, sanctions, political instability, or natural disasters can produce extreme market dislocations.
  • 3.10 Operational Risk. Trading platforms, brokers, custodians, and settlement systems may experience outages or errors that affect your ability to act on information.

4. Limitations of Data & Models

  • 4.1 Historical Bias. Signals are derived from historical and current data. The future may differ; correlations, factor exposures, and regimes can break without warning.
  • 4.2 Data Quality. Data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors. Third-party data providers may revise or restate previously published figures, including earnings, fundamentals, and economic indicators.
  • 4.3 Model Simplification. Models are simplifications of complex phenomena. Edge cases, illiquid instruments, micro-caps, corporate actions (splits, dividends, M&A), restatements, and abrupt regime shifts may not be handled accurately.
  • 4.4 Survivorship Bias. Universes and indices may exclude delisted or bankrupted instruments, overstating apparent historical performance.
  • 4.5 Look-Ahead Bias. Care is taken to avoid look-ahead bias in our calculations; however, no guarantee is made that all data is point-in-time correct.
  • 4.6 Backtest Limitations. Any backtest or hypothetical performance shown reflects modelled results, not actual trading. Hypothetical results do not include execution costs, slippage, taxes, financing costs, or the impact of real human behaviour and are inherently subject to hindsight bias.
  • 4.7 Stale Outputs. Scores and signals may become stale between updates. You should not assume any displayed value reflects current market conditions in real time.

5. Reference Prices & Quotes

Prices displayed on the Service are reference values aggregated from third-party providers. They may be delayed by up to 20 minutes, may be unavailable, and may differ from consolidated or executable market data. Do not rely on prices shown in the Service to execute orders.

6. Forward-Looking Statements

Any forward-looking statement, expectation, forecast, or projection on the Service is inherently uncertain. Actual outcomes may differ materially. No representation is made that any account will, or is likely to, achieve results similar to those shown.

7. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for:

  • 7.1 independently verifying any information before acting on it;
  • 7.2 understanding the products you trade and the risks they carry;
  • 7.3 complying with all laws and regulations applicable to you, including market abuse, insider trading, and sanctions regimes;
  • 7.4 tax reporting and meeting tax obligations in your jurisdiction;
  • 7.5 assessing the suitability and appropriateness of any decision for your personal circumstances.

8. Suitability

Trading and investing may not be suitable if (a) you cannot afford to lose the capital you deploy, (b) you do not understand the products involved, (c) you would be unable to make level-headed decisions under stress, or (d) you intend to trade with borrowed funds you cannot otherwise repay. If any of these apply to you, you should not trade.

9. No Liability for Trading Outcomes

To the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law, AstronAlgo and its operators will not be liable for any trading or investment loss, missed opportunity, or other damages resulting from your use of, or reliance on, the Service. See Section 12 of the Terms of Service for the full limitation of liability.

10. Acknowledgement

By using the Service you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted this Disclosure and that you are using the Service at your own risk.
